Digital Radiography
Digital X-rays offer unparalleled benefits over traditional radiographs: they’re convenient, safe for the environment, provide a great opportunity for patient education, can be transferred and copied accurately, and best of all, they’re safer for our patients.

Picasso Diode Laser
Our office puts patient comfort at the forefront of all procedures. With that in mind, we are now using our Picasso diode laser to perform many procedures that previously required scalpels, sutures and had long healing times. Now with this state-of-the-art technology, in many cases we are able to perform the same procedure with little or no anesthesia, no scalpels or sutures and greatly enhanced healing times. Some of the more popular procedures we are now using this tool for are:

• Correcting gingival (gum) contours to create that perfect smile
• Removing various oral lesions and pathology (biopsy)
• Releasing tongue ties (ankyloglossia) and muscle attachments that cause gum recession
• Treatment of apthous ulcers, herpetic lesions (cold sores) and root sensitivity

A Close-Up Point of View
It is very important to us that you are completely involved in every treatment decision that needs to be made. At your initial visit you will notice that we take digital photos of your mouth. We use these to help in diagnosis and to present necessary work to you. In this case, the saying, “a picture is worth a thousand words,” is so true. By seeing exactly what we see, you are able to assist us in the decision-making process and choose the dentistry that’s right for you!

When a problem arises during treatment or is recognized during an exam, we may use our intra-oral camera to capture a picture of the area on a TV monitor. This gives us the ability to have a discussion with you that you can understand because you see what we see!

DIAGNOdent
Providing the absolute best service to our patients is one of our goals. We have a high-tech tool that allows us to find cavities on the chewing surfaces of back teeth, even when they are just beginning, and would have been missed by previous detection methods. The DIAGNOdent is a small, portable laser unit that can detect these cavities and alert us with an audible signal and a numerical readout, so we have an idea of its size. The value of this tool is that we can stop cavities in their infancy, whereas in the past they would have to be significantly bigger before we could find and treat them. Just like other areas of medicine and dentistry, early detection and treatment is of immeasurable value in preserving your health.

In today’s world, “innovative technology” often means removing the personal touch. Here, the opposite is true. Being on the cutting edge means we spend less time on the mechanics and more time on what your care means to you. It also ensures that every minute you’re in that chair is beneficial, so we’re not taking up most of your valuable day.
